![]() ![]() Location: Good location, close to airport, bus routes and other hotels, shops and restaurants. ![]() Our tour operated booked us into the Luxor Hotel, West Wing, Las Vegas, for 5 night stay as part of our 14 day holiday. My husband and I returned from the United States of America on Monday 6th Oct 2014. The last time we stayed in Vegas, we had a hotel mid-strip, and were able to walk to either end in a relatively short period of time. A taxi ride to the Stratosphere cost us $20. The only downside to staying at the Luxor is that it is located at the very southern-most end of the strip. The elevator is apparently unique in the world, as it ascends diagonally along the wall. We stayed on the 23rd floor, and the view of the lobby from that floor is downright scary. There are many (many) places to eat and drink within the Luxor, and I ate one of the best burgers in my life in the Burger Bar, which is in the connected Mandalay Bay next door. The people who stand near the front desk and try to sell tickets to shows can be annoying and invasive, but that seems to be the case wherever you go in Vegas. The service at the front desk was speedy and helpful, and our room was immaculately clean and newly furnished. The Luxor pyramid is one of the more iconic landmarks in Vegas, and it is as impressive on the inside as it is on the outside. ![]()
